Bring It All Together to Celebrate and Live in Dayton

By Cindi + Bob Remm

This dynamic duo combined their artistic forces to create a one-of-a-kind installation that the couple feels really captures the sentiment of what it means to celebrate Dayton. “I use quilts as a metaphor for bringing Dayton together,” Cindi Remm says. “Collaborating with my husband, who does stone sculptures and masks, is a great way to tell the story of Dayton’s multicultural heritage.” Can’t get enough traditional and folk art like what you see in the Remms’ display? Head to the Cityfolk Festival, July 1-3 at RiverScape MetroPark. Cityfolk celebrates the arts from around the world, bringing a global perspective right to your front door through concerts and events taking place throughout the year, the largest of which is the Cityfolk Festival.

About Cindi and Bob Remm:

As a fiber artist, Cindi Remm says working on art quilts with a theme gives her a great way to be creative and express herself through fiber, color, texture and design. According to Bob Remm, because we live in a multidimensional world, he says he enjoys trying to capture the emotions of people and other beings (some imaginary), in three dimensions, using different materials from Alaska (wood), Arizona (gourds), and Zimbabwe (stone).
